The 10 Episode multistar cast which is headlined by Elija Wood, Colin Dean and Christopher Loyld delivers almost every time. I had a ton of doubts when I was first told I would like this show, however it proved me wrong everytime! With cameos by Tim Curry and John Cleese this show was almost like "who dosen't want to be on??"
The adventure of Greg and Wirt as they try to find their way home from over the garden wall, almost feels like a Tim Burton tale, and will keep your intrest.
I recommend you add this one to your blu ray collection when it comes out, or at least watch it a couple times!

Everybody Chill the Universal Revamp is Working.....
I haven't written on here for awhile and I have had the same thing on my mind so here it goes :). Last week I gave Dracula untold a solid review, not great but certainly not dog shit (as much horror purists claim). With this film it's clear where Universal is taking the revamp of our beloved monsters to compete with the Marvel Universe. Most people don't seem to be thrilled with the direction of the film, however I thought it was pretty good for what it was. No it's not some hardcore horror flick that touches on Dracula, and scares the shit out of you. However it's also not a Micheal Bay over done CGI fake shitty Transformers 4 that some people claim it is. Luke Evans is solid at the lead, and I found the take on just why he chooses to embrace the vampire side of things. On top of everything else IT MADE MONEY FOLKS!! In fact it made a shit load over 255 million world wide.
If you don't like the more action side of our monsters spare me the displeasure of your neg reviews and skip the rest, because it's obvious that most people think its working!

Is The Walking Dead really 3x Better than American Horror Story?
This morning I was looking up the ratings for both season 5 of The Walking Dead and American Horror Story: Freak Show. Not surprising was the fact that TWD beats AHS on a weekly basis, however what was is the margin of victory. On average this year the walking dead beats horror story by 3x.
So what that translates to is when 4 million people tune in to freak show over 12 watch the dead. The one exception was the season premere where AHS broke every record in FX history ratings wise with 6.2 million people watching, meanwhile 13.5 tuned into walking dead.
In all honesty I do not think the margin is even close to being as huge as the general public are making it. Yes TWD is a kick ass comic and by all means is a fantastic show that has even been featured at Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights for the last three years, but damn AHS is so well done!
As a matter of fact if you want to compare bragging rights Horror Story was actually won more awards than the walking dead! It has become almost certain that one cast member will win an Emmy each year!
I don't expect the underrated AHS to ever catch TWD as long as zombies are as hot as they are, but there is no way the margin represents a true difference between the two.

Dorothy Must Die is a nice Twisted Take
When I started reading "Dorothy Must Die" I hadn't realized it is actually a middle book in a trilogy by author Danielle Page. That being said, don't feel like you need to read the first in order to get a grip on the situation.
Amy Gum is the story's main protagonist who once again is brought to Oz by tornado, only Oz isn't that magical place we remember from the movie. Dorothy has become one hell of a dictator and is harvesting magic and destroying Oz while she does it! With help from the Tin Woodman, Scare Crow and Lion Dorothy is ruling with an iron fist.
Amy is taking in by the army (what's left of it) of "Evil" witches with the task of being the one to kill Dorothy.
I won't spoil this creative novel by laying out the plot entirely like you can prob find on a wiki site, but I will say that this is very much worth reading. I enjoyed seeing an almost Tim Burton take on the classic characters and the adventure in which comes along with it :)
my score 7/10

Simpson's Treehouse of Horror XXV ads another Classic
What would Halloween be without another Tree House of Horror from the Simpsons?? Being a 30 year old I can honestly say I've grown up with Lisa, Bart and Maggie and look forward to their Halloween episode with much delight every year. Now granted there have been "off years" were they didn't pack as much punch as pos, but I've I may quote Bad Santa "They can't all be winners can they?"
I honestly think my favorite was Tree House 19 with the parody of It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, but there are too many to count as far as why I love this show! I mean come on, we the fans with the sense of humor that it takes to enjoy the Simpsons are prob the same kinda people who can turn around and watch a great horror movie right?
If I had to grade this year's episode it would def be solid B+ maybe even a A-. Either way I was happy and think it was way better than last year's. The main event segment were we saw a parody of "The Others" was one of the best in Tree House history in my opinion and I must have watched it 3-4 times already :)
You can love them or hate them, but either way The Simpsons aren't taking the tree house down any time soon and I can not wait for #26 next year!

A Good Marriage = A Movie Worth Checking Out.
That being said when I herd that Steven King was writing the screen play for A Good Marriage my ears perked up a Lil bit and I got excited to see this movie. The last time King wrote the script for a movie based on his book was Pet Cemetery and damn that is a scary movie!
This is based on a short story in King's anthology novel Full Dark No Stars which I've read and as most of his work is very well done.
The story basically is based on what a wife would do if after 25 years of marriage, you discover the person sleeping next to you is cereal killer. I enjoyed the chemistry between Joan Allen and Steven Lang as they play out what I think most people would be feeling in that situation. Now granted most people prob wouldn't take the road in which the wife chooses to, but it makes for a good film anyway.
The other nice thing is since the script is penned by King based on a story by King there isn't anything lost in the translation. Long story short if you enjoy Steven's work you will enjoy this movie, and if you haven't read the short story before, the cast packs enough punch to keep you engaged throughout the film.
My score 6/10
